Help and frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Short answer: You can either join a game invitation or create a new one.

Go to the Games page (also available via the header menu). Select the game you'd like to play. If there are open invitations, you can join by clicking Accept. Otherwise, use the Create invitation button there to open a new game invitation. The game will start as soon as the required number of players has accepted the invitation.

Short answer: Yucata uses asynchronous gameplay.

Players make moves when they are online. Since players are from different time zones, they are not always online simultaneously. You can play live if both players remain in the same game. There's no time limit, but stalled games are removed automatically. You can also play multiple games at once, including solo games that don't require waiting.

Short answer: You're required to move in the game that has been waiting the longest.

This rule prevents players from abandoning games they might be losing. The Eingefügtes Bild/Eingefügtes Bild button will guide you through your pending games. After making moves in all of them, you can stay in one to play live.

Short answer: Ideally, you should finish games you start.

In two-player games, you can usually offer a tie or concede. If there is a bug, report it in the bugs section of the discussion board (linked in the footer). Some newer games allow cancellation if all players agree via the opinion setting "Cancel Game" (as soon as the all players set this, the game gets cancelled).

Short answer: Use the chat in the Lobby or the discussion board.

The chat has several channels: "Public Chat" for general messages, "Admin/Mod" to contact the team, and private chats with individual users. You can search for users at the bottom left of the chat area. The discussion board contains more detailed and permanent information, organized by topic.

Short answer: Game design has evolved over time.

Older games use "FW1", with basic functionality. "FW2(v1)" added a right-side panel with features like game logs and in-game chat. "FW2v2" introduces a more scalable layout with a simplified sidebar; less essential tools are moved to a menu behind the top-right Eingefügtes Bild button.

Short answer: There is a game history for every player. Your first entries are at the Lobby as well.

We have scored and training games. The scored ones are kept in record unless all players get inactive. The training games get cleaned out from the database after some time.
